작가노트 | Artist’s Statement

2018년부터 탑골공원과 낙원상가 일대에서 마주한 사람들의 삶을 사진에 담아왔다. 사회의 가장자리에서 서로 기대어 살아가는 이들에게도 웃음과 기쁨, 그리고 존엄이 존재한다. 《지상낙원》은 그들의 일상 속 짧은 행복을 바라보며 묻는다. 지금 우리가 서 있는 이 사회는 과연 누구에게 지상낙원이며, 누구에게 지옥인가.

Since 2018, I have photographed the lives of people around Tapgol Park and Nakwon Arcade in Seoul. Even on the margins of society, there are moments of laughter, joy, and dignity. Earthly Paradise reflects on these fleeting moments of happiness and asks: For whom is our society a paradise, and for whom is it a living hell?
